What is a Dental Implant?

A dental implant (fixture) is a device that is used to replace a tooth or teeth to the gum and bone in your mouth. Once a healing phase has occurred then the implant is used to attach an artificial tooth or bridge securely on top. Dental implants are generally designed to be permanently fixed into place.
